A Physical Therapy Approach for Dyspareunia (Online)
A Physical Therapy Approach for Dyspareunia (online)
About the Course
Did you know that up to 20% of women experience pain during sexual intercourse? Imagine the impact on physical and mental health, body image, relationships and attempts for conception. This 2.5 day online course will provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to help this (relatively silent!) population, and includes theoretical online sessions, videos, assignments and vignettes. It concentrates specifically on the management of women with vestibulodynia, the most common form of dyspareunia in pre-menopausal women.
Note: The entry-level course on female urinary incontinence is a pre-requisite.
Switching to the online format has changed some of our objectives. Instead of practising the techniques, you will be learning and reviewing them in detail. The format of the course has been adjusted to include a follow-up session, in order to help with the practical application of the techniques that are learned and reviewed in the course. Videos and vignettes will be added, along with quizzes and readings to supplement your learning.
